Meeting was called to order at 4 p.m. Minutes of the November 12 meeting were approved.
OLD BUSINESS
Westinghouse Streetlights – The Fundraising Committee have raised $19,000. Their goal is $25,000 by 12/31/07 so the DPW can get engineering survey started.
Preservation Plan & Application for Surveys Consultant – Andrea submitted a pre-application to MHC to make sure we qualify for a grant. She has also talked to other towns about how to identify historical houses and has prepared seven questions to help with this identification. Chris Skelly may be able to provide an intern in the spring to identify the exact list of houses we need surveyed. A Lenox student volunteer is already photographing pre-1923 houses.
Newpaper Articles on Lenox Properties – Ellie Geller will get info from Barbara Allen and the articles from Suzanne and work independently with Martha Stewart on this.
Community Preservation (Funds) Committee – Andrea will get application, Pam will fill it out and Suzanne will get letters of support from Rep. Smitty Pignatelli, Amy Lindner-Lesser, Pres. of Lenox Chamber, Masssachusetts Preservation and will write letter from Historical Commission.
Student Volunteers – Natalie Allen, a junior at LMMHS, will update HD Properties Survey list, using the Assessor’s list. Jim Biancola will compare the Assessor’s List with Town Hall records and will find out how to generate a more readable map for the Ppty Surveys Book..
Historic District Agenda Posted on Town Web Site - Suzanne will call Greg, Town Mgr, about Agendas that don’t appear. Jim will watch for hearingts we should attend.
NEW BUSINESS
Senior Volunteers -- Catherine May, Sr. Services Director, has volunteers who can help us if we identify a specific work project.
Meeting adj at 5:30. The next meetings are Feb 11 and Mar 10 at 4 p.m. at 26 St. Ann’s Ave.
